In the War of Truths: The Colonial Turkish Burgeois State\u2019s New Methods of Killing today, in the war of truths, the colonial Turkish bourgeois state is applying new practices of killing. The fascist palace regime, which “condemns” the attacks targeting journalists by Zionist Israel in Palestine, is directly applying Israel’s colonial practices. It follows the traces of Zionist colonialism. In Ba\u015f\u00fbr\u00ea Kurdistan, Kurdish journalists waging the war of truth through assassinations, and in Rojava, through drone attacks, are being murdered.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


In war, truths are slaughtered first. This phrase not only points to the place and critical importance of truths in war, but it also repeatedly shows us that all wars develop and continue in the form of a war of truths. In every war, truths materialize as ideological and psychological warfare concepts. This phenomenon institutionalizes as a special war organization and activity.
The colonial Turkish bourgeois state has been waging its ideological and psychological war against our peoples uninterruptedly since the mid-1950s through the organization and activities of the Special Warfare Department. In the last 70 years of history, the Turkish bourgeois state, from the Greek pogrom to the Cyprus invasion, from fascist military coups to the May Day massacre of 1977, from Alevis massacres to Kurdish massacres, has continuously conducted special psychological and ideological warfare under the command of the Special Warfare Department in all wars and crimes against our peoples. Undoubtedly, it did this mostly through the press and mass media. It has tried to legitimize its unjust, lawless, and dirty war against the Kurdish nation through “Mehmet\u00e7ik press” and the dominant media. Today, this same fascist propaganda, based on lies, continues relentlessly, creating new truths to inject into the minds of our peoples and justifying the practices of the colonial state.
Let us briefly examine the war of truths and the geopolitical developments and changes in Syria in the last month. On November 27, the political Islamist HTS gang, which had moved to take Aleppo, was considered by the UN a terrorist organization. The US and all imperialists, as well as the colonial Turkish state, considered HTS a terrorist group. However, on December 8, when the jihadist HTS took over the government in Damascus, the entire official and dominant narrative shifted. The world was awakened to a “new truth.” “Terrorist Golani” was suddenly dressed in a suit and turned into “Mr. Golani.” This was the “new truth” that was imposed on the world, one that could not be questioned. The reason was that the US and all imperialists, the colonial Turkish bourgeois state, and the political Islamist fascist regime needed to legitimize the new situation. The Special Warfare Department went to work. Of course, it was impossible to create a new truth in TV studios with sticks and fascist psychological warfare rhetoric. The lie had to be constructed on the ground, just as US CNN did.
A group of MIT press members and embedded journalists rushed to Damascus. They presented \u0130brahim Kal\u0131n’s prayer of thanks at the Umayyad Mosque and the recognition and legitimization of the new regime of the colonial Turkish state as a “great Turkish victory.” In line with the fascist palace regime’s perspectives, psychological warfare news was used to stir up Turkish chauvinism and Sunni sectarian sentiments. This was aimed at reinforcing the chauvinistic conditioning in the context of the preparation for the occupation war in Rojava.
These journalists, who are the voices of the regime and members of the special warfare apparatus, also undertook the task of image-making and legitimizing the murderer Golani and HTS. They tried to prove how “liberating” the jihadist fascist HTS was. While Alevis in Syria were being massacred in pogroms, and Islamist oppression and loyalty were being imposed on Christians and Druze, the propaganda intensified with the narrative that HTS was tolerant toward women, Christians, Druze, and Alawite Nusayris. This is how the new truth was constructed. HTS, a bloody gang that organizes genocidal mass murders in Syria, Iraq, and Turkey and is known for its numerous war crimes and mysogyny, was presented as a “liberating” and revolutionary political entity. HTS was made to appear as a reasonable and legitimate political subject. This is a clear and current example of how imperialist rulers and their collaborators “construct truth” to serve their interests.
The war of truths is a specific field of class struggle, which we constantly experience and observe. This war reveals itself in different dimensions in Syria and Rojava. The core function of Turkish colonialism\u2019s special psychological and ideological war is to spread and impose its constructed truth and lies on the masses. Another core aim of psychological and ideological warfare in the war of truths is to eliminate and neutralize the truths built for the oppressed and exploited classes. This is why free press and journalists, who tear down the state’s lies with knowledge of truth, have always been the primary target of colonial fascism.
The colonial Turkish bourgeois state has applied this method throughout history, waging wars against opposing truths. It has heavily punished those who produce, express, and spread truths in favor of the working class and oppressed peoples. Journalists, scientists, and thinkers from different nations who opposed the regime and were revolutionary or socialist have been imprisoned and killed through the most dishonorable methods simply for expressing their thoughts. Armenian journalist Hrant Dink and President of the Amed Bar Association Tahir El\u00e7i are among the most well-known symbols of recent history. The journalists and politicians of the Kurdish democratic movement have been the ongoing target of the colonial and denialist Turkish bourgeois state in this war of truths. Kurdish free press offices have been bombed, journalists tortured, some like Ape Musa executed in the streets, others like Ferhat Tepe kidnapped and disappeared, hundreds imprisoned, and many forced into exile.
Today, in the war of truths, the colonial Turkish bourgeois state is applying new killing practices. The fascist regime, which “condemns” the attacks on journalists by Zionist Israel in Palestine, is directly implementing Israel\u2019s colonial practices. It follows the traces of Zionist colonialism. In Ba\u015f\u00fbr\u00ea Kurdistan, Kurdish journalists waging the war of truth through assassinations, and in Rojava, through drone attacks, are being murdered. Journalists like Naz\u0131m Da\u015ftan and Cihan Bilgin, who were reporting from Rojava and conveying the truths of the war to the Kurdish people and the oppressed of the world, were the latest to be killed in a drone attack. This is not the first time the fascist Turkish state has used drones to murder journalists. In just five months, Yazidi journalist Murad Mirza \u0130brahim was attacked by a drone in Shengal, and journalists G\u00fclistan Tara and Hero Bahad\u00een were attacked in Suleymaniye. Five truth warriors were killed in drone attacks that were clear war crimes and extrajudicial executions.
In the war of truths, everything is happening right before our eyes. Imperialists and their collaborating ruling classes can manipulate the facts to suit their interests. They can bend and twist truths, constructing new ones based on lies and black propaganda. The colonial Turkish bourgeois state continues to develop its ideological and psychological warfare with advanced special warfare techniques. Because truths provide and sharpen political alignment. Ideological and psychological warfare plays a key role in turning the state\u2019s population into its political base. Undoubtedly, in this context, both verbal and visual media play a crucial role. Journalism plays a vital role in the war of truths.
In times of war, when the lines are becoming clearer, the significance of these moments becomes apparent. Ahmet Hakan, a writer for H\u00fcrriyet newspaper, targeting Naz\u0131m Da\u015ftan and Cihan Bilgin with the label of “terrorist apparatus,” is a direct example of the ideological and psychological operations of colonial war. In simple terms, Ahmet Hakan is carrying out a special warfare activity. As a psychological warfare element of the state, he fulfills the mission assigned to him by the fascist regime. This parasitic figure, known for his hatred of revolutionaries, the Kurdish freedom movement, and democracy, gains his position by doing so.
This pro-state journalist, who works directly with the leader of the fascist regime, has taken on the role of shaping the ideological and psychological warfare. Ahmet Hakan, who considers the murders of Naz\u0131m Da\u015ftan and Cihan Bilgin necessary, issues a fatwa (ruling in islamic law)<\/em> targeting the Istanbul Bar Association. The special warfare policies applied to the Bar\u0131\u015f Academicians during the Afrin occupation are now being directed at the Istanbul Bar Association.
Naz\u0131m Da\u015ftan and Cihan Bilgin were murdered while conveying the truth to our peoples as truth-fighter journalists. It is the truth and journalism in favour of our peoples targeted by colonialism. Journalists and our peoples who took to the streets for Naz\u0131m and Cihan stood by the truth and the right of the oppressed to information. During the commemoration and protest action in Istanbul, 59 people were detained. Seven journalists, including ETHA editor P\u0131nar Gay\u0131p, and two supporters were arrested. Journalists who write and defend the truth are the eyes, ears, and voice of our peoples. The voice of truth in journalism is the honor of the people. The freedom of arrested journalists is the current issue of our struggle for political freedom. The struggle for the freedom of detained journalists is an undeniable duty of all working-class movements and the democratic factions of our peoples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
